The Psychic Cat

I was visiting a country in which
Debates for the presidency were up.
But there, they had a distinct way to pitch:
Instead of presenting how smart they are,
The more one is a fool, the more the star!
Former employers gave references,
One of whom chose to broadcast the fact that
One candidate always made one, GOOD cup
Of coffee! The other candidate said
That he plans to consult his psychic cat
To decide on declarations of war:
If the cat goes, "meow", the guns will go, "pow!"
Did that ever win a roaring applause,
And I bet many votes! "Let that fine fool",
Shouted some, "be granted the chance to rule!"
Startled by noise, I found out what this was -
A dream! But really, why not let fools reign?
We have not had results with all the brains!
