Best of Friends,

When friendship is strained, do not feel forlorn!
There are thorns, even with friendship the rose,
But on and on the song of friendship goes.
Even after ingratitude has torn
Both hearts and flesh, ideal friends do not mourn
The death of friendship. Rather, the bond grows
With that understanding which a friend shows!
There are lessons to learn, even in scorn.
Is not my friend's anger the reflection
Of what I disown, my imperfection?
The virtue of friendship means to respond
To the whole world with an empathic bond!
Therefore, ideal friends help each other rise
To more mature levels: to become wise.
