Living Silence

Perhaps tonight will be a night,
tasting of beer beneath smokey breath,
where the air around me, takes me,
away from walls of social existence,
propelling into living memories;
the taste of laughter and living.
Perhaps tonight will be a night,
one of those nights,
I’ve waited in contempt,
knowing these smiles will return to me,
I’ve kept to them like a healing scar,
ripping open new regressions to be marked.
Maybe tonight will be a night,
like rhymes coming together only once,
continuing a quest of the next empty bottle,
forever filled with thoughts unspoken,
screaming out loud,
against the loudest song, in harmony.
Will tonight be a night,
I reclaim these words and talk aloud,
all the silences kept inside of me,
flooding through with each beat,
of a heart lost to a rhythm,
aimless to a world with a thousand metronomes.
Tonight is a night,
chaotic, musical memory,
I can still sing these thoughts out loud,
giving life to the next silence,
spiraling down to meet the actions,
of an imagery worth living.
