feeling numb

Age Group: Adult
my tears have dried
my body feels heavy and cold
even the sting of a cigarette could do
nothing to block the hurt.
the blood on my arms has caked and scabbed
the kiss i have felt has dissipated
the friends i have trusted betrayed and
abandoned me.
i run, looking to turn to my beautiful Goddess
but she is nowhere to be found.
and i make myself
numb.
my beautiful lady rests my head to her busom
and hushes my cries of anguish.
she strokes my hair like a mother to a daughter
and cooes pretty words in my ear.
the wintery bitterness melts away
my brass shell
and eases my mind with a soft breeze.
she calls my name, my real name
silverflame
and vanishes into a cloud of mist.
