Song of the Molested: Broken

Broken.
That is what I am...broken
And no one seems to remember
Why the peices no longer fit
The way they used to...
They no longer fit
Because I am
Broken.
Childhood
That's when it was...childhood
Behind memories to horrid
To be remembering
The way I should do
It never became me
Because it was
Childhood
Forgotten
That I should have...forgotten
Buried behind in my memory
And hidden away so that
I could not remember
But it is not so easy
For it to be
Forgotten
Abandoned
Molested, screwed, abandoned.
Made to anticipate the pain
And locked away by rules
So that I could never heal
And then forgiving you
Who left me
Abandoned
Shrieking
Calling out in agony and wildly shrieking
For some relief and desire to die
But never being given release
Instead I am left
Beside the road
Once beaten
Shrieking
Wondering
Now that I've been f**ked and abandoned
And now that the eyes lock on me
And wonder how it could have
Happened that I should
Go looking for healing
Instead of merely
Wondering
Broken
All that I had somehow wound up broken
And I accepted that, but now I walk
And realize that I was a statistic
And bind up what I was given
So I begin the mending
No more to be
Broken.
Author's Notes: Last night I had another panic attack, the result of PTSD. Another one. No one knows what causes them, other than it is somehow attatched to my PTSD, and that would not be mine, except for thoughtless deeds done long ago....and suffered by so many in addition to me. From being abandoned, midnight 'death rides' with a gun held to my head, being molested...and I know I am not alone. And so I wrote this song, for myself, and for all the others who have found themselves Broken.
