Breadcrumbs

Breadcrumbs are for birds
But they're for people too
Just throw a few around
And see who comes to you
Just sprinkle some for friends
They'll dance with you a ballad
If you need some yourself
Just add them to your salad
Take some out to sprinkle
To make hungry fishies dance
They eat the breadcrumbs quickly!
Not one crumb stands a chance.
Hurl a generous handful
Of breadcrumbs in the air
Alas, it looks like snow!
(how rude of folks to stare...)
But watch out when you use them
To mark your path back home
Mean creatures will eat them all
In hopes you'll always roam
It seems the little breadcrumbs
Have way too many uses;
So YOU do something clever --
For I'll not hear excuses!
And just because you're smart
You'll know just what to do
Breadcrumbs may be for birds
But they're for people too!
Author's Notes: A poem written out of pure mischief, but also to relay something I've learned. ;-) What do you suppose the breadcrumbs symbolically represent?
