Calling Leftovers' Bluff

by Phronesus Disegno
 Age Group: Adult

They say if you can't stand the bull Then after the Moon has been full Then honor your caprice For it's time to release To discover you DO have some pull.
So now that the Full Moon has passed, It's time to be rid of my past: A week ago today, I went to a buffet, Bringing leftovers home, driving fast.
One week in my fridge they have sat, I almost forgot where they were at. But then, as if younger And dying from hunger, I ate them in two minutes flat!
But just a few minutes ago, I felt rumbling down below. I'd better think quick, For my stomach is sick! And all I can think is, Oh No...
Those week-old leftovers for chow, I ate them but I don't know how. Goddess hear my plea! Set these leftovers free! BLLaaapppttt! ...I feel much better now.
They say if you've just had enough And life keeps on getting more rough, Then let the Moon wane And if you are sane You won't call the leftovers' bluff.
Author's Notes: Telling the difference between unresolved issues, and residual issues, was among my most recent experiences. If they are truly unresolved, then it may be necessary to address them again when the timing is right. But if they are merely residual, there's no need to rehash the hell out of them, or treat them with the same sense of urgency as before. Sometimes it's better to just let them fade away into nothingness and get on with life. Residual issues and grudges are a lot like leftovers. They're only good to keep for a while, and then it's better to just get rid of them, before they knock on the refrigerator door demanding to be let out.
