Little Flaws

Suppose you have some little flaws
That others know to be,
Do you admit that they are there
And tell them you agree?
Suppose you have some little flaws
That many will point out,
Do you deny that they are there
So fervent and devout?
A little flaw is all it is,
But fine is all the rest.
A little flaw is all it is,
Here's how you pass the test:
A little flaw is all it is,
Denial draws attention.
A little flaw is all it is,
Admit and hear no mention.
A little flaw is all I see,
Don't let false pride come first.
Have courage just to face yourself,
Don't make the problems worse.
A little flaw is all I see
I have one just like you --
Be your own friend, that in the end
I may be your friend too.
Author's Notes: People have a tendency to be more forgiving and accepting when a person moderately acknowledges having fallen short of perfection, that is, making a mistake. But imperfections and mistakes are not bad things. Some you learn to live with, some teach you what you need to learn, and others can be corrected. Elightenment is not great knowledge, it is great acceptance. The Serenity Prayer comes to mind.
And now, to lighten the subject with dry humor, I use "Oil of Olay" to help correct my little flaws. ;-) But after using Oil of Olay, my humor is no longer dry, because it has become replenished and moisturized. hee-hee
