Conquering Daemons, Part 3

Age Group: Adult
The clouds are mostly gone now
Stars twinkling their way through
Drifting memories of the past
Searching ever for what's true
Calm and peacefulness around me
Having fought my daemons off
Staring downward without seeing
Water flows through a winding trough
Silence broken by the murmurs
Distant wind blows through the trees
Nothing was ever completely lost
From each moment I chose to seize
In the unseen luminescence
My eyes squinting and barely see
Empty fog blurs the distant visions
But unseen love is protecting me
Victory held fast in my grasp
Numbness, happiness and sorrow
Death has finished its deed for today
But shall start once again tomorrow.
Author's Notes: From a very sad, dark and isolated place from within my past self. It took me until my early 30's to come to terms with certain aspects of my past.
