Elemental Blessings

May your energy thrive
Feeling vibrant, alive
Among all firey salamandrine flames
Inspiration to create
As you dare to tempt fate
Bless your sacred will wherever it aims
May your imagination soar
Traversing ever much more
Among all airy sylphs you will find
Through the vast astral plane
Always knowledge to gain
Bless the sacred expanse of your mind
May the place that you live
Have serenity to give
Among all earthy gnomes that may roam
For your soul shining bright
Each day and each night
Bless the sacred place that you call home
May you feel all emotion
Gliding gently the ocean
Among all watery undines of the sea
Introspection within
Let your journey begin
Bless your sacred love for all to see.
Author's Notes: Did you know that the concept of elemental beings was based on the philosophy of someone named Theophrastus Philippus Aureolus Bombastus von Hohenheim (1493-1541) ? I can't imagine how they ever got the name Philippus Aureolus Paracelsus from that, but the elemental beings are mentioned in the "Philosophy of Paracelsus". This was the guy who finally determined that illness was caused by external agents attacking the body rather than an internal imbalance of humors, the four fluids of the body whose relative proportions were thought in ancient and medieval physiology to determine a person's disposition and general health. Those fluids were blood, phlegm, choler, and black bile. I'm just glad that someone figured it out before I was born. ;-)
