Takes One To Know One

It takes one to know one
Whatever one may be
For we recognize ourself
In everyone we see
It takes one to know one
Who each of us once was
Though we may have evolved
We recognize what one does
It takes one to know one
If now we hold a grudge
Not liking someone else
But who are we to judge?
It takes one to know one
Whatever one may be
We recognize only ourself
In everyone we see.
