The Essence of Thought

Age Group: Adult
What is a thought, I wondered
But an idea come alive
At first the truest secret
Laying plans for which to strive
A living force created
Within the mind to know
Depending on its living host
If ever it shall grow
Demanding respect and worth
By using all things learned
Paths unseen now revealed
Respect and worth now earned
The host begins to tread
Possibilites to explore
Paths traveled countless times
Paths never tried before
And as the thought matures
With some action to adorn
Reality becomes changed
The thought is finally born
Alive for all to see
Right here before your eyes
My thought has come to be
It should be no surprise
The thought of writing this poem
Shows just how thoughts contrive
What is a thought, I wondered
And this poem has come alive.
