Mirror's Reflection

I just looked in the mirror
And stood there in such awe
I'm sure you'll never guess
The reflection that I saw
This reflection in the mirror
Stirred thoughts within my mind
Of things that needed fixing
And things I've yet to find
It reminded me how to change
If ever I wanted to
By taking the initiative
For learning something new
It reminded me of my worth
And experiences I've earned
To be and do what's right
From everything I've learned
It reminded me of my strength
From having suffered pain
Compassion, love, acceptance
Such knowledge helped me gain
It reminded me of my weaknesses
And there is always hope
Yet to learn about them all
Is my best way to cope
I realized it's a yearning
To learn all that I can
Stagnation won't set in
If only I follow this plan
I realized what I saw
Others may not see the same thing
Whether good or bad or indifferent
What perspectives it can bring!
Your mirror has a reflection
Like the one I claim I saw
The image may be different
But perhaps you'll stand in awe
The secret of your reflection
Depends solely upon you
Never lose your sense of wonder
And keep learning something new.
