Charge for Full Moon, June 2005

by Thomas Harris
 Age Group: Adult

Freedom of Worship! Pride of the Soul! They who wag their tongue in gossip lack Both Wisdom and Understanding! Knowledge is not theirs. Do not bellieve every work of the tongue Which is brought to be by labor of imagination. A person's reputation is worth guarding. Honor is something one ought not lose. Seperate the cream from the milk, That which is greater from that which is lesser. Seperate that which is beneficial From that which is not beneficial. Do not accept the unacceptable.
Beware a war made on plants, For such a war can only be unjust. Beware a war made on the growers, For such is only oppression. Keep peace with your kin and stand For the honor of our beliefs. Beware, lest the Burning Times Come upon us again. Know the Kindred and hold them dear. If you do not proclaim your rights, Expect no one else to. The Old Ways were established For the sake of They who guide Our Path with Light and Wisdom. They are also they who hide Treasure in the Dark.
Our Tradition, Our Tribe, Our Order Stands firm, proclaiming those things Which we hold true as untouchable, Sacred. Our teachings are for the establishment Of stones upon the Path, a foundation For sacred places. Oh, how often We turn away from buildings In our desire to have a place of worship ...And fellowship, and a place to teach and learn... We often show preference for our doing so In fields and clusters of trees. We are blessed in the Realm of the Greenwood, Ye who dwells where is the Court Of the Woodland King.
Understand that there is unity in labor, For there is power in the joining of persons. Oppression is less likely to overtake A unified cause which has determined Itself to be unbreakable. You have the right to a career, To follow a vocation. It is a matter which affects every aspect Of your person. Discern the Path of your labor, For there shall be work to suit the worker. Even among you who are called disabled, You are not unable. There is still work to be accomplished. Workers upon the common soil, Take pride in the sweat of your brow.
Every labor of humankind is not lasting. Some are built of sand in the morning And melt like dew in the sun. Some are like dust, dispersed By every wind that passes its way. They who seek solace and comfort In things lack understanding And the way to peace. Truth is understood by considerate study. The time shall come when the nets Of safety which we have come to know Are disturbed and out of place. In that day, we shall rely on those teachings We here have continued And the innovations of custom We have established.
The price of our Path is vigilance. Ours is the mountain Upon which Tradition, Tribe and Order stand. At our urging, stars fall and reality comes to be. The course you shall follow shall come and go. It shall lead up and down, Veer left and right. Who shall know the way of it's going?
