Midnight Toast to Change

Yes it is that time again
For our dreams to come to be
Gather 'round in a circle here
Let's toast to all we see:
No matter if you're happy or sad
Or which phase is the moon,
This night begins our future
In which we shall have our boon --
I dare to guess what you all want
But please feel free to boast,
But honey wait until your turn,
'Cause I'M making THIS toast...
Perhaps you want what you don't have
Perhaps you need some change,
But I won't ask what's on your mind
I'm sure I'd find it strange
And so with that I'll say these words
To see if I can guess --
Now listen closely for your wish
Included in this mess...
(clears throat)
To health, to life, to happiness
And yes, to this and that,
To twinkling stars high in the sky
And even to my cat,
To love, and yes, to living well
Each day may you feel fine
To sharing all I have with you;
But hands off this here wine...
To all that's been and all to be
And to the here and now
To friends and family, and I'm sure
The in-laws are included somehow.
To shining sun and poofy clouds
And birdies in each tree
To all the ones I love the most,
But most of all -- to ME!
hee-hee... ;-)
To all of us with drink in hand
Including the beers with fizz
May we each find the things we need --
To a whole new "whatever" it is!
(clink!)
Author's Notes: I was in a good mood so I thought I'd write something humorous. I mean, you probably didn't fall out of your chair laughing, but hopefully it made you smile. :-)
