Crystal Drums

Eight thousand drums, drummers drumming,
Eight thousand drums, a world to heal.
Common hearts did gather from all lands,
One more or less alike, all seem akin.
Our great garb we wore, made by nimble hands,
And prepared within ages to descend.
I've heard the walking beat of crystal drums
While I, awestruck by starry skies, did dream.
Eight thousand drums, drummers drumming.
Eight thousand drums, a world to heal.
'Twas not marked out by fairy ring that night,
But by senses and drum-beats round the fire.
"Vivat the Dream", the chant turned song of might
As embers of hope formed beneath the pyre.
I've heard the walking beat of crystal drums
While I, awestruck by starry skies, did dream.
Eight thousasnd drums, drummers drumming.
Eight thousand drums, a world to heal.
Embers cooled ere dawn came, time waking us.
Groggy, we realized the visit done
And thankful we returned, to live life as just,
Still thankful for memories that were won.
