Sometimes I Wonder Why

I'm never sure of things I do
But sometimes I wonder why
I know I have great love for you
And still I sometimes cry
I've taken care of myself so good
Though in ways I let myself down
I don't know when I sometimes should
Display a smile or frown
I can't decipher what I feel
Don't know what's going on
The promise there for me to heal
Is that to which I'm drawn
I don't know what I'm feeling now
But I do know that it's there
I ask sometimes, the question "how"
How have we become a pair?
You have your faults and so do I
Things we must still address
You say I'm good, yet I ask why
Do I feel such a mess?
I'm wrong, I'm bad, I feel the guilt
Of being who I am
I look so good dressed to the hilt
But I know it's just a scam
And no one cares or no one knows
The feelings that I feel
Aloneness, fear, it sometimes grows
No hope that I may heal
The outward vision of my love
Is there for you to see
Yet still as if from up above
You love me just for me
Somehow I look and see your smile
Forgetting life is tough
I study you, and all the while
Somehow it is enough
And in this world of awful hate
In you I've found a friend
I only hope I'm not too late
To be there 'til the end
You've said again a thousand times
Your love is really true
I'm lost amongst the thousand rhymes
Why you love me like you do
Perhaps this love is true and real
For once, it's really true
And all I know is all I feel
I think of only you
You've said to me that you are mine
I've not had that before
And yet love's forcefulness sublime
I could not ask for more
So thank you, love, for all you do
I don't as often cry
Your love remains so ever true,
Sometimes I wonder why.
