Another Faulty E.S.P. Mishap

Today when I started to think
After buying a cola to drink
My muse reinstated,
I was truly elated
With epiphanies all on the brink.
As if under a solar eclipse
The vending machine so full of chips
Or one chocolate bar,
The selections they are --
I found myself licking my lips.
I knew then and there I should choose
A selection by means of my muse:
Clairvoyance to see
I'll use E.S.P!
How brilliant, for how could I lose?
I chanted myself some inflection
My focus for one good selection
For I loved them all,
Except "one" I recall
That granola bar in the collection.
The buttons I ever did bless
With the utmost of my success,
Though devoid of nutrition
For this junk food mission
With eyes closed, a button I'll press...
I closed my eyes having had thunk
Of yummy selections of junk
I opened my eyes
But to my surprise
That granola bar fell with a clunk.
Now I sit here drinking a cola
Plus one little bar of granola
In my E.S.P. mess,
Perhaps I'll confess
I must not know sh*t from Shinola.
