For Nidra, from a humble worshipper

Nightly you embrace me
And lay with me
until Dawn
or later
on those sweet
rare
occasions
It's the moments
You arrive
unexpectedly
during the Afternoon
that fill me
with joy
and regret
A journey through Night's
small hours without your
inviting arms is
........draining
leaving me
........lifeless
A hull until our next rendezvous
Though you can be cruel
my tired heart knows
it's hard to live
.......without you
my sweet Empress

Dedicated to the Hindu Goddess of Sleep.
Written on a fitful, restless night.
