Love and Conflict

Age Group: Adult
Love is like a flower seed
You plant it in a pot
That place the love intends to grow
When that intent is sought
A tiny sprout so very small,
As most everyone knows
Great care is needed there at first
So vulnerable as it grows
And then a few new leaves will bud
The stem extending taller
A little stronger is the love
Than when it was much smaller
More time has passed, what have we here?
One conflict, maybe two --
The flower tries to grow some more
But finds the pot won't do
Vast roots now crowded in the soil
The flower's growth has ceased;
Now all the work it took to grow
Yields threats to be deceased...
But if the love is to evolve,
When love is truly sought,
Decide if conflict means the end --
Or get a larger pot! ;-)
Author's Notes: ...and whatever the decision, it has to go both ways and all involved must each do their part and share in the effort in order for it to work.
