This Time Will Be The One

And so you once believed
When love had just begun
In all that you conceived
The rising of the sun
And then for a short while
It seemed you had your boon
Each day, another smile
The sun on high at noon
Things started to go wrong
Love faded toward the past
Devoid of daytime's song
The sun was setting fast
With pain and loneliness
And nothing feeling right
No hope left to confess
As dusk turned into night
Darkness suddenly broken
Enough to see night's features
New moonlight whispers spoken
Awaking nighttime creatures
Soon things are not so bad
There in the dead of night
New comfort feeling sad
Beneath the soft moonlight
Soon sadness will forget
As ways are found to cope
The moon begins to set
But leaves behind new hope
Night creatures soon retire
The pain of loss now gone
As darkness shall expire
With gentle light of dawn
You once again believe
That love has just begun
New wisdom now achieved,
This time will be the one.
Author's Notes: Sadness and loss may always be remembered, but they won't last forever. The world keeps turning no matter how down and out we get, and I honestly believe that it does so for our own good.
