In Search Of Self

Stand where you are in this world,
The right here, and the right now;
Plant your feet firmly on the Earth
From which all life comes in birth,
To which all life returns in death.
Reach toward the heavens with your mind
Through the threshold of the Sky;
Extend all thoughts into the infinite unknown
Into what we have sought since time begun,
Where heroes dare to find their soul.
Beyond the past into what could have been,
Beyond the future into what could ever be;
Beyond one's self and one's dimension
Beyond linear time and space
Beyond the right here, and the right now.
At last, if in that place of the unknown
A dark void of emptiness prevails over all;
Cease searching elsewhere for yourself,
For the above is no different than the below,
And the future is no different than the past.
You shall see that which you never saw
What you knew you will no longer understand;
For the right here, and the right now
The perpetual instantiation of time and space
Has always existed within you.
