The Tears

I HAVE ALL BUT GIVEN UP.
MY LIFE, HAS VIRTUALLY NO MEANING NOW.
EVERYTHING THAT I HAD BELIEVED IN, HAS BECOME A LIE.
LOVED ONES, NOW HAVE BECOME TREACHEROUS FOES.
FRIENDS, HELD IN HIGH ESTEEM, NOW TURN THEIR BACKS UPON THIS TIME OF NEED.
MY SOUL IS EMPTY, DEVOID OF ALL BUT DESPAIR.
I CRY, I WEEP, I GRIEVE.
TEARS OF PAIN, TEARS OF BLOOD.
THE VEIL HAS BEEN PULLED ACROSS MY PATH.
I SHALL NOT CROSS ITS BOUNDRY.
I WILL TAKE THE ALTERNATE PATH THAT LEADS AWAY FROM MY FORMER LIFE....
Now.........
The path I take now, is empty wasteland.
I have become an outcast. Because of what I believe to be right and just.
I hold to that conviction.
And I will suffer for it.
Alas, though, in that suffering, a new hope may dawn.
And I will welcome it with open arms.
For now, my creator comforts me. And leads me away. Tears shed for me, as was blood.
I know that I am unworthy of such love.
And I weep as such, because of it.
I survey the stars above and hope,
As I leave, with a trail of tears and a path of anguish, in my wake.
