The Nameless Void.

Age Group: Adult
My heart.
The center of myself.
Containing all things.
Yet, exposing all for the masses to see.
My life force, my soul, resides within it.
Enabling me to exist, survive.
Giving me choices daily; Love, hate, sadness, anger.
I, chose to love.
I, chose to discard hate, sadness, anger.
And I eternally wrestle with the myriad of emotions, feelings, and thoughts, that contain all four in a endless whirlpool.
I was happy.
Never wanting. Never needing.
I had become, what I believed to be, complete.
My bouts with my emotions, laid to rest.
Until…
Until the venom of darkness was injected into my life.
And the battle became engaged in earnest.
For years, I fought. Rallied. Attempted to treat the symptoms of the despicable infection. Fighting it with all I had.
My fight has come to an end.
I, who love, have felt the rapier talons of a poisonous being.
Where the love for my children, and my hope, has been assaulted, violated, by this nebulous shape.
Only to replace it with an empty chasm, containing no end.
My heart and soul cry out!
Tears from my eyes, never expose themselves.
The tears, from my heart, pour out as of a flood.
Pain, great sadness!
Anguish, emptiness!
Agonizing loss!
Cry! Cry for the children!
Cry! Cry for the others this infection spoils!
My blood, hot and red, runs cold as I see the cataclysm that has befallen the children.
Soon…
I realize I must go on.
The damage is done.
The gaps, virtually, unbridgeable.
I weep.
Now, I must go on.
I must live with this nameless void, all my days.
