Overcoming Narrow-Minded Influences

Asked to see that what I have
I should appreciate
It's fine with me because I see
That what I have is great
Yes tell me all that I should know
What you want me to see
And chances are I'll see your point
And probably agree
But blinded to all other things
Though 'tis what some have taught
I shall address those other views
Ignore them I will NOT.
For what some see, it isn't all
There is for me to know
I'll seek and learn, and then decide
From ALL things that I know.
Author's Notes: The truth evolves with new information. Disinformation persists when learning is discouraged. Knowledge may very well be power, but power without responsibility invariably leads to the abuse of the power. Responsibility is encouraged by knowing that the truth evolves. And the truth evolves with new information.
But overcoming narrow-minded influences is not about changing other people. It's a personal decision.
