NOMADIC DOMAIN

THE SUN RISES,
AND I WATCH WITH AWE.
IT'S BLOOD RED COLORATION, GIVES WAY TO A GOLDEN HUE.
THE COLOR SPREADS ACROSS THIS DESERT. RICH TANS, OCHRES, STAND OUT IN STARK RELIEF.
I, STANDING ON TOP OF A MASSIVE DUNE, SHIELD MY EYES FROM THE BLINDING INTENSITY. THE SAND CRUNCHING AND SHIFTING BENEATH MY BOOTS.
I WRAP MY TUNIC TIGHTER AGAINST ME, AND MOVE OFF OF THE DUNE.
I AM A NOMADIC WANDERER.
MY ADVENTURES RANGE FROM OASIS TO OASIS.
THE DESERT OF MY SOUL STRETCHES BEFORE ME.
ARID AND VAST.
THE OASIS I LEAVE BEHIND ME, WAS ONCE VERDANT AND PLENTIFUL. FILLED WITH HARMONY, COMPANY, AND WONDERS I HAVE NOT SEEN IN AGES.
NOW, IT HAS DRIED UP. LIKE SO MANY OTHERS IN MY TRAVEL.
IT IS TIME TO GO ON.
THE TUNIC SHIFTS AND MY WRISTS ARE BARED. MY TATTOOS OF SCORPIONS, SHOWING CLEARLY.
I SHRUG, AND ALLOW THEM TO BE DISPLAYED, SINCE I HIDE THEM FROM OTHERS. NOT WANTING TO INTIMIDATE OR FRIGHTEN THEM.
NOW, IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE.
THE SCORPIONS SHIMMER IN THE DESERT HEAT, SEEMINGLY TO MOVE UPON MY SKIN AS IF ALIVE.
I AM LORD OF THIS DOMAIN.
I NEED NO OTHERS.
I STAND ALONE.
AND SURVIVE.
