I fell for you.
Hard.
I was enraptured by you.
Mesmerized.
You seduced me the first night. The first of many nights.
You stoked the passions that I had so long pent up.
You whispered the sweet nothings that all lovers want to hear.
You promise dreams of erotica, and days of élan.
I believed, so much in you.
I trusted as a child.
I yearned nothing more, than for your happiness and contentment.
I worked, bled, suffered, and loved you as no other man.
I gave you more than you had ever been given.
I supported you, as a pillar supports its prize.
I held you as you cried.
I gave you safety within my arms, from the storms of life.
Yet, throughout it all.
I should have seen it coming.
I should have seen the Medusa’s visage, behind the angelic mask.
I should have seen the widow within the web.
I should have.
I didn’t.
When I did,
It was far too late.
Now I am ensnared within your trap.
Awaiting my fate.
Reflecting upon all I still have left to do in this world,
Knowing I am slowly dying from your venom.
I cannot weep.
I cannot rage.
I cannot continue.
I cannot live.
Death is welcome.
Let it end here.
