Gift of Sunlight

Sunlight is the essence
Of what you send me from afar.
You are there, I close my eyes and feel
Father Sol, our beloved star.
Sunlight is the message
You send from high above.
The Moon shines only because of you,
And reminds me of your love.
I feel the overcast sometimes,
But behind the clouds still aflare!
Sunlight won't abandon me
It's always there somewhere.
The Sunlight you gave me continues to shine
Even though you're gone.
We'll meet again at the top of a Sunlight beam
When my day comes to go beyond.
Author's Notes: This poem is dedicated to all of my friends I have lost. To AIDS, to illnesses and diseases, to accidents, and to natural causes.
