Soul Mate

When I find the love of my life,
I suppose I won't worry that much.
All the mind games and all the strife,
I have dealt with these things and such.
But there comes a time I would hope
I'll receive as much as I send
And the looking and searching and games,
I hope will just come to an end.
Though I still have half a life to live
The first half, it was not the best;
And I age as those do around me
To find others too want to rest --
In the arms of a love that is true,
And too tired of many an "Ex",
Having spent so much life feeling blue
Having learned it is not about sex.
It's about working together as friends,
It's about how two pave their way
It's about just being happy (for a change)
Finding happiness every last day --
It's about someone who will listen,
And be heard as sincerely too;
Middle age has some disadvantage,
But at least, friend, I have you.
And for once nothing seems to matter
I forget my woes just for a while
All I ever wanted, you give me
Is so simple, a reason to smile. :-)
Lovers come and go as they choose,
And I've dealt with the mind games and such;
Whether love of my life or not,
I never need worry so much.
