Stalemate

Age Group: Adult
One single idea
A tiny spark
Extinguishes easly
And once again dark
Discretion protects
The spark becomes flame
And now the idea
Is not quite so tame
A vision ensues
Believing I can
Acknowledging risks
Creating the plan
Details abound
Evolving endeavor
Surprising myself
Determined and clever
Then one single doubt
No longer so clear
I question my worth
And drown in my fear
The vision is blurred
I don't think I can
The risks are too great
And flawed is the plan
Clouds enter my mind
And I am to blame
The light glowing dim
Death comes to the flame
A smoldering ash
Cold winds now surround
My faith and my hope
Are no longer found
Extinguished again
No longer a spark
One single idea
Is once again dark...
Still I somehow believe
That one day I will see
I should give dreams their chances
As they have done for me.
