Questioning the Source

Age Group: Adult
Was it caused by asking,
Or was it caused by me?
Were my requests bestowed,
Or did I cause them to be?
Was it higher power,
Or the power of my mind?
Was the change self-made,
Or given me to find?
How much then, was given,
And how much did I take?
How much was provided,
And how much did I make?
Aligned with my own conscience,
I have the things I sought;
Directing my life forward,
Reality from thought.
If things are as I thought,
My thoughts have come to be...
Was it caused by asking,
Or was it caused by me?
I'd like to give the credit
Exactly where it's due;
Life's good when I work at it,
So tell me what is true:
How much came from elsewhere,
And how much came from me?
Were my requests bestowed,
Or did I cause them to be?
