Seasonal Craziness: Springtime

It's Springtime again and I'm so glad
The weather's warmer than it was.
The sky stays brighter longer now,
I can drink more iced tea just because.
There are certain things I notice now
In Winter they don't happen at all.
Like it or not, take the good with the bad,
There's as much to adore as appall.
Why just this morning I saw ten gnats
Flying 'round my potted plants.
A spider was found on my bathroom wall
And an ant tried to crawl in my pants.
I stepped outside to smell fresh air,
The chirping birds I could hear.
Roly-polies were eating my flowerbed,
And a wasp tried to fly in my ear.
My nose is stopped up, I can hardly breath.
All that pollen gives me horrid hay fever.
But what's that horrible smell in my lawn?
A gift from my neighbor's retriever.
The Sun disappears behind a cloud
As I look up and stare at the sky.
A strong gust of wind, the birds fly away
As a raindrop lands square in my eye.
A crash of thunder, torrential rain
Oklahoma weather, not known for consistence,
A roaring tornado, debris in the air,
Sirens wailing off in the distance...
But then the next day is as calm as can be
The sky is so clear and blue
The birds tweet again, the retriever comes back
And the bugs in my house come back too.
Such is Springtime around these parts
But it's really not that bad at all.
I'll miss this time of year so much
By the time it reaches next Fall.
