Demons of the Night

Age Group: Adult
Sorrowful songs, sung high to the moon
Closer draw they, and I to my doom.
A silent approach, a fear on the rise
The nightmares will come, hate in their eyes.
Soft whispers in the night
No comfort coming from them.
A dark terror takes flight
An evil flowing from him.
Running now, have to hide
The stench of fear they follow.
Life's a gift, don't want to die
The waters cold and shallow.
Soothing darkness, alone within
Sanctuary from the lies.
Something moved, how'd they get in?
I fear the voices from inside.
Deceit beneath their eyes
Venom on their breath.
Trapped within my mind
What hope do I have left?
It's over now, they've broke inside
I'll fight with all my might.
There's no escape, no where to hide
From the Demon's of the Night.
Author's Notes: This took me years to finish and is about physical, mental, and spritual battles between myself and me, and between me and others.
