you've held me down with words of blame,
like blades that scar the soul
You've scarred my pride beyond the things I could tame,
you took too much control
And still you stand all mighty,
Still you think I'm weak
I don't want to be fighting,
but you made me speak
I won't let you hold me down
With chains of submission and binding pain
But I'll try myself to take away my frown,
Til the happiness does retain
And if you hold me back with shackles
If you constrain my mind to stone
I'll get back up from this many tackles,
and you'll forever leave me alone
I found my wings somewhere beyond this place
I found my reason to be out there
I'll never have to spit you back in the face,
I know that you were never fair
Surrender to the inescapable fate
You can't say no once I'm flying
You know you had your dark day,
But I wasn't the one mentally dying
