A glance in a window catches reflection of self
But this self is unknown so just whom do I see
I glance at it harder and see that it’s me
Not the one that I knew or wanted to be
But a third leering face looking back do I see
Many things now have changed
Guess my outlook has too
But look at this face
Just how, what, where, who
Have I become that I can’t recognize
While looking through window where once held my eyes
The stare it is blank no emotion at all
As sadness takes over I lean on the wall
It’s all coming back in blues reds and greens
They give this all to me to stop things unseen
My face starts to warm as I look down the hall
And see the nurse coming while starting to call
It’s time for your pills they’ll make you all well
And silence the voices of your inner hell
While deep down inside
I push it all back
As I feel once again
I’m under attack
And the rage deep within me
Tell me things unreal
As I swallow these pills that will help me to heal.
