When Sagittarians Get Drunk
by Phronesus Disegno
Age Group: Adult
Here I am at the local bar
And tonight I shall drink a al carte.
My friends will arrive soon from near and far
But I'M going to get a head start!
(gulp! gulp! gulp!)
Hello, my friend! What brings you out?
It's so good to see you here.
How dry I am, there must be a drought.
Tell you what, let me buy you a beer.
First wait for me here, I see a friend
Over there, it's been a long time.
It's only 7:00 PM, but if a moment you'll lend,
I know he'd like a Zima with lime.
So what's the fuss? It's early yet,
When I come back, a beer I will bring.
I'm never gone long, and you can just bet
You don't have to worry 'bout a thing.
Now quit complaining! I'll be right back,
Just sit here and you'll see
I'll just tell him hi, give a pat on the back,
And again with you I'll soon be...
Hello, my friend! It's been a while,
I've brought you a Zima with lime.
Each time I see you it brings me a smile,
Say, could I please borrow a dime?
My friends over there playing at the pool table
Can't agree which team made a mistake.
I'll flip this here coin, and be perfectly able
To tell them who'll rack and who'll break.
Hello pool friends, I'm here to join
Your interesting game once again.
Call heads or tails as I flip this coin -
You rack. You break. Amen.
Excuse me, I'll be back to watch your game,
But I've just been given a glance.
Yet another friend will place much blame
On me if I don't partake in one dance.
Hello, my friend! Looking nice tonight!
Let's dance, as I've still more to do.
You dance like an angel, what pure delight!
Catch you later, someone else to persue!
Hey, another friend! Did you just arrive?
I'm ready to buy us a shot!
If I have too much, take my keys and drive,
Excuse me, I see somebody hot...
Hello, stranger, I noticed you here.
I've never seen you out before.
Your "other half" will soon appear?
Well I sure won't cause a war.
My friends playing pool, how did the game go?
Did you all have any fun?
No matter to me, I just go with the flow,
Who cares? Someone lost, someone won.
Well, my friend, here's your dime,
I'm ready to give it back.
You've already drunk your Zima with lime?
Hmph. You certainly do have that knack.
That DeeJay, what is he saying now?
I can barely understand him at all.
Did he say it's closing time? but how?
I just got here, and now it's Last Call!
Time for one more that I can be drinking.
Wait, who's that sitting there?
My first friend! Oh no, what was I thinking?
Still waiting for his drink in that chair.
Hello my friend, I'm surprised to find out
You're still seated comfortably here.
I've just been flitting around and about,
Hey bartender! Get him a beer!
Author's Notes: True story about a night I once had out on the town. I needed one of those nights that night, because I had one of those days that day. Thank goodness my friends love me just the way I am! Enjoy! hee-hee
