Choose Your Own Meaning

To all those who have thanked me,
To all those who gave me praise,
It is you who saw yourself
In my strange poetic ways.
'Twas not me who you should thank
It is you, whom I surmise
That should look into the mirror
And give credit, and recognize.
Just my words were not enough
Though that direction you were leaning
It was you yourself, that's all,
Who found your own true meaning.
Author's Notes: Just as two people can go to an art museum and think impressively or not about a given art piece, so can anyone do so with their own meaning or interpretation of... well, anything in fact. Perhaps it is a good idea to keep in mind that what you perceive may very well be an aspect of yourself. And what you perceive of others may be your own filling in of the blanks.
