Autism

Rocking, forward and back
It comforts me when I'm in need
Not one soul knows of my thoughts
Of my soul reaching out to plead
Just love me, it's all I ask
Though I'm different, my soul does soar
Don't touch me, but hold me close
And love me, I won't ask for more.
Hold me as close as you can,
But if not, then let me hold you
For if I hold you close to my heart,
You shall know that my love is true.
And it's not simple like you think
For autistic thoughts fill my mind
It is simple to recognize love
If forever, reaction is kind.
But that's not real life, now is it?
Understanding is what I plead,
As my thoughts seem to venture to space,
Simply love me, that's all I will need.
No question, and no conforming
If I'm there, you know it's my choice
Watch my actions, louder than words
Love is spoken through actions, not voice.
And still, if you don't understand
Think of freedom to simply "be"
I am different, with love in my heart
I'll love you, and love me for "me".
