Gay Caretaker, Gay Worker

And now from job to job
I wander and consider
What hat I am wearing
When the clock ticks next hour...
And the time marches on
And the masks I wear change
And the voices i hear murmer
The second hand moves....
Evil lifestyle, this I lead
To be myself and be alive
Unnatural, they claim, to be
But yet so natural to me
And the minute hand moves
And the world is spinning
Time moves on and on
Unknowing of my plight
The evil lifestyle works
In a convenience store
And in a hot factory
And babysits in 'free time'...
The time is blind to me
The hours pass me by
And shadows rise and fall
Measuring, then cutting away
Sinful man, devolved from what?
I came out and became aware
To live I had to be out and proud
And never to closet return
The hour changed,
The light dimmed
The light brightened
The shadow ran
For on that bedside,
Holding knife to wrist
And woozy on pills
I came to wisdom
The World Tree beckoned
By my foot I hung
Perfect days measured
Until I came to death and life
Now evil lifestyle is mine
And evil lifestyle is lived proud
And unnatural is the dance
I dance in light of day
In hours, passing slow
I take care of others
And labor at everyday things
Glad the closet is gone
