Hello, my friend, returning,
From far, and as if we've just met
The years almost melt, or would
If the years had not changed us so
And so we must relearn one another
Going through similar situations
It is almost like mirror gazing
And i'm not sure that's always good
Considering you were my first crush
And i 'changed' you....
Rumors fly around us,
Now we finally live together
And they ask if we're 'together'
Even though we're not
They sometimes don't believe us
And so we just shake our heads
It's the first time in adult life
That we've not melded in flesh
But this time, we meld spirit
And our presence is enough
To let us know that all will work
And it will be worth it
We've had lovers, both of us,
And lovers come and go....
And yes, I've thought about you
Of dating you, but,
Lovers come and go...
This time, we are friends,
And friends are more rare
And more precious.
Since last I saw you,
You've been Pagan as I
Hard to believe,
When we both went to that
Little Pentecostal church ...
Now we've come to see the world
As living, as one,
And our minds eyes
Though apart many years
Kept common vision....
The Old Ones brought us back together this time
So that, my gay pagan friend, we're each others' sign
They knew we were always closer than brothers
And knew us to understand what escapes others
Even though, like brothers, we've been a world apart
