Moonlit Thoughts

In the stillness of my heart chamber,
I looked up at the moon tonight.
It just looked like an ordinary moon to me.
Completely absorbed in that moment,
And content to feel sorry for myself.
How nice it would be if you were here --
Then I remembered what you said,
You sometimes look up at the moon too.
I suppose it was possible then,
That we were both looking at the moon.
Somehow I knew you were thinking of me.
If we could, we would hold each other's hand.
No words, only peaceful moonlit thoughts...
Suddenly the moon smiled and winked at me,
And I had no choice... but to smile back.
