The Sun Bends Low

The Sun bends low in contemplation
And I wonder at this sunset hour
How, seeing this situation with consternation
I am left empty of all magick power
In face of something that should never be
When you told me you might have HIV
And the tears unmanifested in you
Began to pour out of me...
The Sun bends low in contemplation
I call of plans to move to the East Coast
And all my life plans now rearrange
So that I can spend more time with you...
I don't have to, I know that
And the situation is new...still small
In comparison to what it might become
But it is amazing, still...
The Sun bends low in contemplation
And all my worldly goods either fly away
Or are slowly honed down into what will
Fit into two army duffel bags and a carry-on
That will ride the bus to the south
From Muskogee to Austin to you
And a new life and situation
As I, a friendly ear, remain...
Author's Notes: This is dedicated to a life long friend of mine, Bud. Also a gay Pagan, he has a heart of gold....keep my chair warm, Bud. Austin ain't that far away, and Oct. 15 is coming fast.
