Returning Back To Normal

Negativity...
Each time it happens
God teaches me strength
And I come to realize
That without it in my life
I would still be a child
Virgin in every respect
Incapable of defending myself
Terrified of the unknown...
You see, it's not so bad.
Chaos...
Have you really seen it?
A great dream ready to begin
Or a continuing nightmare within
Stagnation and laziness?
Order...
Real if you make it that way
Do you face challenge or pity yourself
Every time you are held back?
Rome wasn't built in a day.
Positivity...
Order and harmony
Sympathetic and encouraging
I wonder sometimes,
That it may not have existed
If negativity were not first
Vivified into a sense of order,
If it had to first be understood
Through time and patience and work...
Yes, it's the result of achievement.
Normal...
Or at least "stable" at last
Ruffled feathers, aren't I cute?
My goodness, my smile is back!
And now I finally can see,
Love has never left my side.
Author's Notes: It was about as difficult for me to get through my recent negativity as it was to write this poem in an acrostic style, in which the first letter of each line spelled the first line of each verse. But, I did it. It's amazing what can be accomplished, if you only try. :-)
