NO BARS OR WALLS DO A PRISON MAKE

Age Group: Adult
How far must you fall before you land and your soul
cries from wounds so deep? When no one sees
the tears that fall so freely, on your knees, head
bent in sorrow do you bleed.
No help offered or found does the pain ever grow
and no one hears the cries that escapes your
lips that lands on deaf ears do you know.
For the prison that bears no walls of stone and
mortor, no sun to warm you or your soul do you
hide out of protection at first as you slowly die
from lack of love and human contact.
The one that did free you for a time now gone
alone do you feel not realizing your heart is
slowly turning to stone do you find reasons to
feel and help to smile and love.
For now hope sees you through the worst of
pains and sorrows to come through the
darkest of times when it would have been so
easy to just turned your back and say good bye.
For now the possibilities are ....................
