Never Wanted

I'm not sorry for things
I'm sure I never wanted
A missing thought that brings
A ghost that never haunted
A chance to have a thought
That never crossed my mind
Will not change what I got
Or leave my soul behind
I carry love and light
For that is all I need
I'm not the type to fight
Or steal from selfish greed
No need to pay the cost
For things I care not of
And never to have lost
My gifts of healing love
You said I could have more
But more does not mean better
I know I would abhor
Your making me a debtor
Grand promises of love
With codependency
Is undeserving of
My solemn guarantee
For you are such a thug
A true genuine creep
Too smart to take that drug
And get raped while I sleep
A chance to be your doormat,
A verbal rug to beat,
Just isn't quite my format,
And why I did retreat.
Real love I've not refused
But you've not turned that key
The rest are not amused
To hear your lies of me
My life force stays undaunted
And I'm happy at last
Those things I never wanted
Are now part of the past.
Author's Notes: Isn't it interesting when people don't get their way with you, they try to make you think you're the one who is emotionally disturbed, when really they only liked you because you were the only stabilizing factor in their life?
