Seasonal Craziness: Autumn

It's once again that time of year,
We all know it as Autumn.
The season gives its first premier
As temperatures reach bottom...
At night I turn the heater on,
It gets cold in my den,
But then upon the crack of dawn
My house warms up again.
And then I turn the A.C. on,
And later make it stop,
Because before the day is gone
The temperature will drop.
And so I wear a short-sleeved shirt
At times throughout the day,
And bring along a jacket
When the goosebumps come my way.
The rain can't seem to make its mind
According to my study,
Dry weather seems so intertwined
With filling puddles muddy
My flowerbed which once was cracked
Stays damp throughout the day,
And during heavy rain, in fact
It almost flows away...
The only thing to keep it there
Are not the flowers' blooms
But rather I see everywhere
A hundred brown mushrooms
No longer are there honeybees
To make honey adept,
The leaves are falling from the trees
And I can't keep them swept.
The Sun is hiding in the sky
With clouds so gray and cool
It doesn't seem to rise as high
As when I swam the pool
And now it seems the spider webs
Are what this season will bring,
Along with all the flows and ebbs
As a million crickets sing
The harvest cooking smells so good
No matter where I look,
And I would bake things like I should
If I could only cook...
But there's one thing that I can say,
I've never felt despair;
To keep me warm I find my way
To my furry teddy bear.
So let the cool rain fall and fall
To fill up every puddle,
For I'll just give my beau a call
And stay warm while we cuddle. :-)
