I never had a mommy

Age Group: Adult
I never had a mommy
Until you came along
You helped me through my day
Showed me right from wrong
You feed me when I was hungry
Gave me shelter through a storm
And when at night I was cold
You kept me safe and warm
Every night I wished
And hoped for someone like you
But until I met you I didn’t have a clue
What mommies were supposed to do
I learned as days went on
That mommies had a very important job
Mommies were to love you for whom you were
And I couldn’t help but sob
When I’m sick I know you’ll
Take care of me
When I need help
You always have the key
So I’d just like to say thanks for being my mommy,
And for all your thoughts and prayers
And if ever I feel bad
I’ll always know someone cares
