Life Goes On

They gave each other love
But now it's like a dream
Maybe they'd like it back
Being ripped at the seams
Where did the love go?
You're left feeling intense
It all fell apart
And nothing makes sense
There's no clear-cut answer
But then such is life
We all have our share
Of heartache and strife
What's done is now done
And there's no going back;
You know, everyone
Must learn of this fact
But love always returns
Always somewhere around
Don't stay on that dark cloud
Try soon to come down
The world keeps on turning
So don't stay gone long
And when you return
You'll see life must go on.
Author's Notes: It saddens me, Crysta, that you are having to go through certain life difficulties at such an early age. But, perhaps it is the very reason that you are one of the brightest and intelligent, most progressively thinking individuals I know of on this poetry forum, eager to learn and explore new possibilities while at the same time respecting traditional ones. You seem to strive for all-inclusive integration of humanity, a world that is a better place to live if only there weren't so much conflict; and at the same time you address the issues of your own life, never giving up the search for understanding. In fact, I believe you already know what has taken me many years to figure out about certain aspects of religion, and perhaps life itself.
Hang in there as best you can, and I hope you are keeping your own personal copies of all poetry you have been writing. You will delight in reading it years from now, to gauge your life's progress, and discover that you always had an inner light that takes many others so long to find within themselves.
