Happy Endings

Sometimes those happy endings
The ones we dream about
In time we start to wonder
And begin to fill with doubt
They become unrealistic
When loves cuts like a knife
It seems they only happen
In a fairy-tale life
But in all those fairy-tales
We tend to forget the worst;
Before such a happy ending,
The hardships will come first.
And within the difficulties
We sometimes lose our way
Losing sight of happy endings
When nothing goes our way
But it's called a "happy ending"
For a very good reason indeed
To reach it we must find,
That "ending" that we need.
No, not the end of life
But the end of a given life phase
We must first learn some lessons
Before we see better days
I've made so many mistakes
Not succeeding in various things
I got better each time I tried
With the experiences it brings,
I can see a happy ending now
With many more to achieve at last
I am reaping what I've sown
In all the years that have passed
So for me, it's a happy ending!
After all I've ever been through
But it's really a new beginning
And I've SO much left to do!
I'm inspired to say all this
Whispered to me by a white dove,
For the first time in many years
Once again I believe in love.
Author's Notes: Written as a journal entry to myself, on this last day that I will ever be 33 years old. Tomorrow, November 27th, I will be 34. Happy Birthday to me! hee-hee
