To Be Loved

I think I'm alone,
But I'm not.
I've not even tried
To reach out.
Or maybe...
Yes I've tried,
I didn't get what I wanted.
But then again,
I didn't want a response.
Not that response.
And yet,
The answer was there
In me the whole time.
Maybe it was
Not quite
The right way
To reach out.
I am loved.
No doubt about that.
Maybe I just need
The people who love me too,
Who have spent their time
With me
Who have taken the time,
Who have cared,
To know me.
They're the only ones
Who ever understood me
Anyway.
I'm not alone.
Why should I worry?
I only created a fear
That had no basis.
Yes, I am loved.
I only needed to recognize it.
